It seems so unfair that the man who started this garden on a bomb site gets a small plaque in the shrubbery while Fred Cleary gets a blue plaque!
Postman’s Park got its name from the postmen who took their breaks there when the GPO buildings were all around.
In 2009 the first plaque since Victorian times was erected here commemorating ordinary people who died saving others.
